Alleged Importation Of Guns, Thugs: Fadahunsi Threatens To Sue Famurewa To Court If…..
The Peoples Democratic Party’s Senatorial Candidate for Osun East Senatorial District, Chief Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has threatened to sue Hon. Israel Famurewa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate over alleged importation of ammunition into the State.
Chief Fadahunsi has given Famurewa seven days to prove his allegation otherwise he would not hesitate to institute ligigation against him.
He made this threat in Ilesa on Saturday night while reacting to his alleged involvement in arms procurement and consequent political violence in Atakumosa East communities of Osun State.
Chief Fadahunsi said, “I am giving Famurewa seven days to prove evidence where he see me to have imported guns and if he fails to do so, I will not hesitate to institute litigation against him.”
According to him, “I don’t need to purchase guns to arm my people . I am interested in developing my people.”
It would recalled that Hon. Famurewa had alleged in a press conference that Fadahunsi bought and imported 100 guns (60 AK 47 and 40 pump actions).
He also alleged that Fadahunsi used political thugs led by Santa Omirin and Folorunsho Aderibigbe popularl bknown as “serere” to unleash violent attack on Ifewara, Iwara, Olowu, Atorin, Temidayo, Tobalase, Lapaide, Faforiji communities in Atakumosa East Local Government Area of Osun State.
Denying any knowledge and complicity in the alleged violent attack, Fadahunsi said that those mentioned by Famurewa were people that worked for APC in the previous elections.
He said, “I can say boldly that the said thugs were those that have worked for APC in the previous elections. They were popularly called state boys. When they were working for APC, they were not called thugs but when they renounced their past deeds and stopped working for APC, they are called thugs.”
According to Fadahunsi, “there are a lot of imported thugs to Atakumosa East and West. We have been reporting, nothing has been done. One, B F Komolafe led thugs to attack people in Ifewara. In Iwara, they went to the house of one of our leaders, Alake Ibironke, damaged his house. The major assault on our members in Ifewara was led by the former Local Government Chairman.
“APC hoodlums and terrorists were led by Hon. Famurewa. Their problem is that they have lost political popularity and relevance as nothing taken by force lasts. Thus, they are now wrecking havoc on their people who are supposed to vote for them but have seen their failures.
“Famurewa who is claiming not to have thugs has been using his Jeep, patrol vans to carry them about to attack opponents. He started his own terrorism within Ilesa when he led them to my campaign office in Omiru area of Ilesa to attack before they went to Benedict Hotel in Atakumosa, kidnapped the security guard only to be released the second day. They also shot sporadically at Orange Hotel. All these cases were reported to the Assistant Inspector of Police (AIG) Zone 11, Osogbo who directed the Commissioner of Police to do an assessment of the area. The CP has been to Ifewara with armoured personnel carrier on this.
”Call Hon. Famurewa to order. He should stop terrorising the people because he wants to be a senator.
“The whole world should hear us and come to our aide. Enough of terrorism by Famurewa. We are calling on the International Communities to help us appeal to Famurewa and APC to stop attacking our people. If they refuse, we would resist them. I will not leave my people to some people to be terrorising them and be watching them killed, maimed.
“Recently in Obokun Local Government, APC thugs shot somebody dead, The police thought they were doing their job, he was arrested and detained but the thugs invaded the police station, attacked and freed him. The D.P.O. was equally stoned by the hoodlums and the next thing was the transfer of the D.P.O.”
He appealed to the security not to be overwhelmed and deterred in discharging their duties by any threat of power and authority saying, he is a man of peace and would always pursue the course of peace in accordance with the laws.
