Former PDP Chieftain Emerges ADC Chairman In Ondo
A former Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Bashorun Tola Alabere, has emerged as the state chairman of the African Democratic Congress.
Alabere was elected at the party’s state congress held on Saturday, alongside other former PDP leaders who secured key positions in the ADC.
Among them are Dare Akinwale as organising secretary, Oloye Ola Amure as legal adviser, Kunle Adeloye as secretary, Ayodele Ogunsuyi, and Bobby Omotoso as deputy chairman.
The Chairman of the party’s National Convention Committee, Kehinde Agboola, said the executives emerged through consensus in line with the Electoral Act and party constitution.
Agboola noted that ward and local government congresses had earlier been concluded, paving the way for the state congress.
He accused the All Progressives Congress of weakening opposition parties, alleging that the ruling party was wary of a strong challenger ahead of future elections.
Agboola, however, insisted that the ADC remained resilient and capable of mounting a formidable challenge, urging members to mobilise support across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated executives, Alabere pledged to strengthen the party and work towards delivering victory, adding that the ADC would target significant voter support in the next polls.
