Supporters of the president-elect under the aegis of Tinubu National Alliance (TNA) have urged the top echelon of the party and the incoming senators of the 10th National Assembly to pick Senator Barau Jibrin as Senate president.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja, Comrade Musa Sharif Rilwanu, the director-general of the group, said the Senate under Barau’s watch would promote synergy with the executive and address the avalanche of challenges bedevilling the nation.
He said, “After careful consideration and extensive consultation with our members and stakeholders across the country, the Tinubu National Alliance is proud to declare our full support for the election of Senator Barau as the next Senate president of Nigeria.
“We believe that Senator Barau possesses the necessary leadership qualities and experience to effectively steer the affairs of the Senate and work collaboratively with his colleagues to address the pressing challenges facing our nation.
“His track record of integrity, accountability and inclusiveness makes him the ideal candidate to lead the Senate and promote the common good.
We are confident that he will bring honour, dignity, and excellence to this important office and we look forward to working with him to build a better Nigeria for all our people.
“We urge all Nigerians to uphold the principles of democracy, peace, and stability. We must remember that we are all Nigerians, and we must work together to build a prosperous and peaceful nation.”
