Tambuwal, Obasanjo In Closed-door Meeting At Ex-president’s Residence
The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, on Sunday held a closed door with former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Tambuwal arrived at Penthouse residence of the former president within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on Sunday.
Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, in a statement said Tambuwal arrived at about 1.30pm with some of his aides and went straight into the meeting with the former president.
The statement read, “The duo came out at about 2.40pm and he briefly hinted that the meeting was on national issues.
“He later took his lunch with his entourage and headed for the mosque inside OOPL to observe salat (prayers) before leaving the complex.”
However, Tambuwal’s meeting was not unconnected with the coming election.
A source said Tambuwal was sent to the former president to know Obasanjo’s thoughts on the choice of the People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
