Osinbajo Dances Buga In Lagos As APC Flags Off Campaign In Jos
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday was absent at the campaign flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
The rally in Jos was attended by big wigs of the party, including President Muhammadu Buhari, APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, governors of the party, lawmakers, cabinet officials and many others.
But Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was absent at the Jos rally of the party, rather, he was in Lagos attending an event where he thrilled participants at the World Tourism Organisation global conference in Iganmu, Lagos State.
During his address at the conference, Osinbajo sang Kizz Daniel’s hit single, ‘Buga’ to buttress his point that music is a global language.
He said, “Music, as we all know, is a global language. Even those who don’t know the meaning of the words of a song enjoy the rhythm. And some find out the meaning of the lyrics, discovering the cultures and ideas that inspires them.
“But let me just test that theory of mine, that is, that you don’t need to understand the words of any song to enjoy it and to be able to sing it and that music is indeed a very global language.”
It was at this point that the Vice President asked his audience if they knew the Buga song. He then thrilled them with the song and dance step.
Osinbajo’s absence at the Jos rally has triggered speculations that he might be distancing himself from the APC presidential campaign.
Recall that during the APC presidential primaries, Tinubu snubbed the Vice President while greeting President Buhari and his wife, Aisha. It took the intervention of the Speaker of the House of Reps, Femi Gbajabiamila, for Tinubu to return to the presidential stand and shake hands with the Vice President.
Last Saturday, during the burial ceremony of Governor Rotimi Akerejolu’s mother, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, appeared to have taken advantage of the moment to retaliate what the APC presidential candidate did to him at Eagles Square.
Osinbajo, while acknowledging the dignitaries in attendance, left out the name of Tinubu. He later apologized to the APC presidential candidate after one of his aides tossed a sheet of paper at him. The Niche Report
