Oyetola Governorship Campaign Unveils Publicity Directorate

The leadoff to the publicity development of the Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s Governorship Campaign Organization held today, Monday, with no time for easy jokes and fanfare or razzmatazz. Neither was there any space for clinging of champagne glasses nor light refreshments.

That was for a good reason: bang on the nail, straight to the business of the day and the stillness of the night descended on the inaugural meeting of the campaign organization’s Directorate of Media & Communication as
Oluomo Sunday Akere, a former Commissioner for Information, currently, Special Adviser (Political Affairs) to the Governor and Director of the directorate, did an insightful dissection of the concept and design of the publicity directorate, and had the directorate inaugurated, effectively assisted by Yeye Funke Egbemode, the state Commissioner for Information

And given the impressive premiere turn out of publicity handlers at the directorate’s powwow, quality deliberation and resolution as well as the collapse of the directorate into sub committees that delved into thoughtful and workable action strategies, all for the day, it’s hard to think that the convocation or inauguration of the publicity directorate could have been better.

Akere, who hammered on the high performance and commitment of everyone at the directorate, had come up with publicity strategies targeted at the quality level of publicity standard that will herd the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC)- Oyetola to victory in the 2022 July governorship election.

The directorate’s preference for sub committees will ensure participation of all in the formulation. implementation and evaluation of the publicity objectives of the 2022 Governorship Campaign Organisation, driven by Senator Ajibola Basiru for the re- election of Oyetola as Osun Governor.

Going by how it all went today at Ilerioluwa campaign complex, the Akere media and communication will be participatory in implementation, monitoring and accountability. An array of out post publicity challenges, the need to comply with the directives on the matter from a media related, sister professional body operating in the state was on parade, and a simple action plan was thought out for the directorate’s publicity safe landing.

On balance sheet, the directorate’s total publicity strategies are both practically technical and technically practicable. Whichever way, the users, campaign publicity handlers possess intelligence, commitment and trust to deal with the challenges of the place of publicity in electoral contest and the thrill of triumph.

The publicity directorate’s outing is the victory enhancer for APC in the Osun Guber 2022.
