2019 Polls: Osun APC Accuses PDP Of Importing Thugs
The All Progressives Congress APC, in Osun state has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state was importing thugs and ammunition into the state.
The APC said PDP embarked on this in a desperate bid to win Saturday’s elections
The Chairman campaign committee of APC, Ife Federal Constituency, Engr. Bashir Awotorebo in a press statement he made available to CityMirrorNews in Ife, on Wednesday raised an alarm over influx of political thugs into some towns making up the constituency since about two days ago.
He said inteligence report by his committee has shown that some suspected desperate Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders have illegally brought into the state some tough political thugs with the intention of causing mayhem before and during the Saturday presidential election.
Awotorebo who was worried with the development said he wondered why some politicians should turn politics, politicking and elections into a do-or-die affair, reminding the disgruntled politicians who are importing political thugs into the federal constituency that those thugs are children of some parents.
He said the job they, the desperate politicians, could not assign to their children should not be given to the children of other parents simply because of pecuniary gain.
The campaign committee chairman said he had it on good authority that these political thugs who were imported into his territory from some neighbouring states are lodged in some hotels across the federal constituency.
It was based on this that he is tasking the new leadership of the police in the state and other security agencies to be proactive in nipping in the bud any likely nefarious activities of these undesirable political thugs and their sponsors whose msission is to cause crisis in the state.
Awotorebo also enjoined the security agents to comb suspected abodes of these suspected PDP thugs and treat the owners of any hotels where they are found as accomplices of crime commission as it is through this type of practice that sanity can be injected into the society.
The campaign chairman who said he has pledged with God Almighty not to have anything doing with mayhem implored the security officers to put in their best in order to ensure that the Saturday election is not only devoid of crisis but free, fair and credible.
