Kongo’s passing is a significant loss to the family of daring and committed sons and daughters born because of Ile Ife. His absence will be felt deeply by us in a group known as B’OMODE O KU, and his contributions to the community will be cherished and remembered for years to come.

As we mourn the loss of this remarkable individual, we take solace and comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us to strive for greatness. May his memory be a blessing to us all, and may we continue to draw strength from his courage, conviction, and unwavering commitment to the people of Ile Ife.

The passing of Dr. Abdul Rauf Adekunle Adeniji, affectionately known as Kongo, has left an indelible void in the hearts of Ile Ife and beyond. He was a true born because of Ile Ife. A stalwart son of the soil. Can I ever forget when he was offered the ticket to contest for the house of representatives (attempt to swap my ticket) and how he stood right before me to reject it, he said and I hereby quote him.” I am here seeking for the senate ticket and not for the house of representatives, Rotimi my aburo would be good for that post.I would have loved to compliment his anticipated role to move our community forward ” He turned the offer down to please my humble self… That’s the kind of leader that honestly wanted others to grow…

Kongo’s demise is a big minus to the family of daring and committed sons and daughters of Ile Ife.I would continue to miss him.

His life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to public service, community development, and the welfare of his people. His dedication to the progress of Ile Ife and its environs was evident in his tireless efforts to promote unity, peace, and prosperity.

Again, I remember when he was beckoned with the responsibility to chair the screening of candidates for a reps ticket in 2023, and he came out to likened his role more like that of the famous Late Justice Sowemimo who was reported to have jailed Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and my late uncle Chief M A Omisade in a very controversial manner treason and felony case .His hand was tight! .He said.

No one would ever forget his role in the formation of NIDSA in the 80’s.

Legacy of Courage and Conviction, I would say.
As a seasoned administrator and committed progressive, Kongo’s legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. His courage in the face of adversity and his unwavering conviction in the pursuit of justice and equality will be deeply missed….

May His Legacy Live On. Adieu my Egbon, Kongo Natty.
