When Desperation Faces The Impossible In Osun, Edo Charrade Becomes A Succour For Apc By Oladele Bamiji
The APC’s excitement so far expressed by its Osun State Chapter over the party’s crooked victory in Edo State only goes to indicate and points to the fact that osun Apc is badly down. The party is so down that even if a Councillorship seat is secured by the party and in whatever manner anywhere, Osun Apc would quickly jump at it, dancing like a poor man plaqued by some fresh nuero disorders.
Osun Apc is indeed ecstatic, but that excitement is only masking their pains and desperation as abjectly helpless opposition. It seems they’re grasping at any sight of victory, no matter how insignificant to their plight in osun State, all in a bid to cling to relevance. This fervor suggests the party is struggling to stay afloat in Osun State.
Their enthusiasm is no doubt, a response to their recent woeful losses, courtesy of the good people of osun State, particularly the governorship election won by His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke and the outright sweeping of the national assembly seats by the PDP. The APC’s decline in Osun State is evident, and their eagerness to celebrate cross-country wins indicates a party in dire need of a morale boost, relevant or irrelevant!
if the APC is madly ecstatic about securing governorship seat right in far away Edo, it implies they’re no longer confident in their independent ability to win major elections in Osun. This desperation stems from their history of controversy and electoral woes in the State, perhaps desperately gazing at a repeat of a blood tainted rigging of 2018 governorship election. I laugh!
The PDP, on the other hand, remains focused on consolidating our gains and delivering on our campaign promises. With the APC’s weakened state, the PDP is well-positioned to maintain the dominance in Osun State politics, now and in years to come.
While Osun Apc unending regurgitation over its Edo State chapter is understandable for a very sick and fratured political party, but attempting to deride Governor Ademola Adeleke and imply a repeat performance in Osun State is nothing but a pipe dream. Apc should be reminded that PDP’s victory in Osun was organic and steadily waiting to happen since Governor Ademola courageously decided to throw his hat into ring of Osun politics in 2017, after the painful demise of his elder brother, Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
The people of Osun State have consistently rejected the APC since then, when Governor Adeleke defeated the APC in 9 out of 10 local governments in the Osun West Senatorial Bye-election.
The APC’s 2018 election victory, we must recall, was tainted by controversy, with former President Muhammadu Buhari’s “Aso Rock remote control” brazenly and admittedly used to rig the election, supervised by one professor Fuwape of the Federal University of Technology, (FUTA), Akure. However, the Osun people remained undaunted and ultimately rejected the APC in 2022/2023 in an emphatic electoral statement.
I wish to warn the APC to accept its fate as a defeated party in Osun State. Any attempts to impose an unpopular entity on the people will backfire. The presidency should not bank on committing political suicide in Osun State and I believe this is taken in smartly enough.
While the APC is busy with its shenanigans for all we care, the PDP administration under the humane leadership pf His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will continue to meet the yearnings of Osun State residents, recovering from the APC’s ruinous regime. We sternly warn the APC gladiators to steer clear of Osun State and be prepared to accept the people’s will when it is signed, sealed and delivered again from 2025 local government elections, 2026 governorship election and the 2027 national assembly elections in the state.
The era of forcing unpopular decisions down the throats of electorates is over, and even if it is not over as in the warped prayers of Osun Apc wanderers, it must not be attempted here in osun. The people of the state will resist any attempts to undermine their democratic choices and the resistance will be stiff and telling.
