FEC: Why Muhammad Buhari Needs Rauf Aregbesola In His Next Level Team By Adeboye Adebayo
The next level administration of President Muhammad Buhari is 47 days today and running. No doubts, it has started on a good note, going by the way and manner the 9th National Assembly was successfully inaugurated and dutifully, the next level leadership of both chambers emerged in line with the thoughts of the Buhari/Osinbajo Presidency and progressive agenda of our great party, All Progressives Congress; APC as led by indefatigable Comrade Adams Oshiomole.
The Buhari/Osinbajo presidency and indeed the leadership of our great party; APC cannot afford to disappoint the people of Nigeria at this critical time in our nation when it seems nothing will work. People’s expectations are highly high, they want magic wand, there is extreme poverty in the land and all social, political and economic index are drastically and sadly against our motherland. Most importantly, there is huge Insecurity in the land, killings, kidnappings and rituals are orders of the day. No quality education as our graduates are unemployable, lacks innovations and not creative because none of our tertiary institutions engage adequately in research either technologically or otherwise. Adequate and needed Infrastructure that will bring about desired economic growth and development is lacking in all sectors of our economy and the reality of being a developing country is slipping away in our hands.
For Nigeria to benefit adequately from the recently signed African Continent Free Trade Agreement; AFCFTA, other numerous bilateral and multilateral trade agreements, we must improve on our Infrastructural plans & Implementation before the takeoff of the agreement or else our fatherland will further become dumping ground not this time from the first & second worlds but from fellow third world countries.
A learned Barrister at Law & friend recently told me that most of the economic policies of government at any level will always favour people with adequate needed resources, then I postulated from his statement that the contents of any bilateral or multilateral trade, economic agreements or treaties will favour only the country with adequate needed resources called “Infrastructure” which is seriously lacking in our dear country, if the truth must be told. It is indeed a sad & serious moment for a country that will celebrate her diamond jubilee (60 years) of independence next year, 2020 which is some fifteen months away.
As President Muhammad Buhari is putting finishing touches to the list of his ministerial nominees to be sent to the red chamber for screening, Nigerians are expecting to see names of distinguished Nigerians that have the practical experience and that can deliver in practical terms on the developmental agenda of the country, People that are practically creative & innovative, people that practically understand how things work here, people that possesses the political will and indeed that enjoy the goodwill of Nigerians are expected to make the list of the highest decision making body of our motherland; the federal executive council; FEC.
Since it is the discretion of President Muhammad Buhari to pick the members of his cabinet, as a patriotic Nigerian and stakeholder in her growth & development, with all sense of sincerity, responsibility and patriotism, I am bold to say that Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola; a former Commissioner of Works & Infrastructure, Lagos State and immediate past Governor of the State of Osun is needed in Buhari’s administration for the progress, social, political & economic growth & developments of our nation and indeed for the success or more successes of Buhari’s administration.
Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, love him or hate him, has carved a niche for himself in the political space of Nigeria by the grace of God through hard works, innovations and creativities.
During his sojourn as a member at the Lagos State Executive Council, he is known for his innovations and unique styles of road constructions and rehabilitations without obstructing free flow of traffic then in Lagos State. Aregbesola was commended several times for his unique designs and massive road constructions and rehabilitations throughout the nooks and crannies of Lagos. If Aregbesola can excel in Lagos at the critical point of infrastructural developments, despite its diversity as the economic capital city of Nigeria, it is very obvious the country needs him.
Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola’s infrastructural developmental policies, plans and Implementations in the State of Osun are there to see and feel for any/all doubting Thomases.
Changing the infrastructural fortune of Osogbo city to have a rightful face of a State Capital from the former look of a glorified local government headquarters is worthy of mentioning, construction of link roads around the State Capital Territory of Osogbo and its environs is a great achievement, construction of the East bypass road to complete the ring road, Osogbo has opened all adjourning villages, properties and businesses to financial fortune and economic boom.
The Construction of Bisi Akande Trumpet bridge at Gbongan junction gives visitors entering through Ife-Ibadan expressway great political, social and economic impressions about the State and the seriousness of its government. Osogbo-Ikirun-Ila Odo bound road is another great developmental infrastructural project that added greatly to the economic fortune of the State.
Construction and Rehabilitations of numerous rural roads and bridges saved farmers the headaches of bringing their produce to the market in time thereby increases the level of their profits.
Construction of modern day markets and acquisition of train coaches for the movements of goods and people are infrastructures that have contributed in no small measure to the greatness of the State of Osun.
His innovations in construction of schools infrastructure and job creation where he employed well over 20,000 youths within 100 days in office as a governor and well over 60,000 before he left through tweaking their subconsciousness and train their mind to see themselves as a respectable social workers contributing their own quotas to the development of the nation which makes them happy beyond the wages or salary they earned are another unbeatable achievement.
Among other things, Aregbesola’s yet to be implemented Motor Parks & Garages designs will be a model for other African nations to copy if implemented in Nigeria.
Rauf Aregbesola is a distinguished Nigerian who has the practical experience and can deliver in practical terms on the developmental agenda of the country. He is practically creative, innovative and full of ideas, he practically understands how things work here, he possesses the political will to make things better for our country, he is patriotic and enjoys the goodwill of Nigerians to a large extent.
Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola is indeed a blessing from the the South West region of Nigeria to our motherland, he should be nominated by President Muhammad Buhari to represent the slot of the State of Osun in particular or Southwest in general and he will no doubts contribute to the much needed growth and development that Nigerian people are yearning for ahead of our notable 60 years of independence.
