Osun at 35: K-Rad Urges Unity, Good Governance, Says State Must Rise Again

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN, popularly known as K-Rad, has called for renewed unity, responsible leadership and purposeful governance as Osun State marks its 35th anniversary.

Adegoke, in a statement commemorating the anniversary, said the occasion should not only be a time for celebration but also an opportunity for citizens and leaders to reflect on whether the state was living up to the dreams and aspirations of its founding fathers.

He said the creation of Osun State 35 years ago was driven by the collective desire of its people to preserve their history and heritage while building a prosperous future for generations yet unborn.

According to him, the anniversary should compel residents to ask critical questions about the direction of the state and whether enough was being done to secure a better future for its children.

“For me, these are not merely political questions. They are questions of conscience, responsibility and legacy,” he said.

The APC senatorial candidate described the people of Osun as hardworking, enterprising, intelligent and resilient, noting that the state was equally blessed with a rich history, culture and human resources that had earned it recognition beyond its borders.

Adegoke, however, warned against allowing self-interest, mediocrity, incompetence and mismanagement of public resources to hinder the progress of the state.

He declared: “Osun must rise again.”

He called for a revival of the values that inspired the creation of the state, including unity, courage, sacrifice, enterprise and service.

Adegoke said the state must strive to build a society where government institutions function effectively, young people have opportunities to realise their dreams, farmers and entrepreneurs can prosper, communities remain secure and citizens can look to the future with renewed hope.

He also paid tribute to the founding fathers and mothers of Osun State, both living and deceased, for their courage, sacrifices and perseverance in the struggle for the creation of the state.

He prayed that God would continue to bless their souls and reward their sacrifices.

The APC candidate further prayed for peace, wisdom and renewed purpose for Osun, expressing optimism that the state would overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger, more prosperous and united.

“The dream that created Osun must not die. It is our duty to renew it, defend it and fulfil it,” Adegoke said.

He congratulated the people of Osun State on the 35th anniversary and wished the state continued growth, peace and prosperity.
