The Osun state commissioner for rural development and community affairs, , Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, also known as Asejere, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging citizens to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience and compassion which the festival symbolizes.
In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday Olaoluwa described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred season that teaches humanity the importance of faith in God, tolerance and unwavering commitment to the service of others.
He noted that the country is currently passing through challenging times that require prayers, unity and collective sacrifices from both leaders and citizens, adding that Nigerians must remain hopeful and steadfast despite prevailing difficulties.
According to him, the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir should inspire Nigerians to promote peace, support the vulnerable and strengthen the bond of brotherhood irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliations.
Olaoluwa also encouraged Muslim faithful to use the celebration as an opportunity to pray for the peace, security and economic prosperity of the nation, while urging political leaders to prioritise the welfare of the people.
The politician further appealed to well-meaning individuals to remember the needy and less privileged during the festive period, stressing that acts of kindness and generosity remain central to the essence of Eid-el-Kabir.
He wished Muslims in Osun State and across the country a joyful celebration filled with happiness, divine blessings and renewed hope for a better Nigeria.
