Adeleke’s Spokesperson Slams APC Over Call For Resignation Of Chief Of Staff
Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, has described the call by the Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) for the resignation of the Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Akinleye, as a manifestation of melancholic tantrums.
The APC had in a statement by its director of media, Kola Olabisi, called for the resignation of the current Chief of Staff to Governor Ademola Adeleke over his involvement in the alleged N13.7 billion payroll fraud rocking the current administration.
The party said, “It is now understood that Governor Adeleke has been getting everything wrong about his waning and unpopular administration simply because those who are manning the key sectors of his government are grossly deficient in managerial skills as exhibited by his Chief of Staff who is adept in the use of gutter languages as leaked by the recording of his altercations with the CEO of Sally Tibbot Consulting Limited.
“That a character like Akinleye could be occupying such a sensitive office in the Osun State Government under the incumbent administration of Governor Adeleke is an insult to the sensibility of the vibrant and well-educated people of the state and it was a pity that the raw, crude, rude and unpolished Chief of Staff had bungled a golden opportunity to act as a good ambassador of the State of the Virtuous.
“We, in our party, have been following the obnoxious and primitive actions and inactions of the Adeleke CoS since he assumed office over three years ago and hereby resolved that Akinleye should resign his appointment without further delay as he has brought more than enough monumental shame to the people of this state.”
But Rasheed while reacting, described the APC as a rejected party, adding that the opposition is largely overwhelmed and in political depression.
“Hon Akinleye is an efficient Chief of Staff to a multiple award-winning governor of Osun state. The CoS’s competence and capacity for the job are validated by the impressive performance of the current administration which is acknowledged at home and abroad.
“As the head of all staff working for the governor, the Chief of Staff demonstrates acute mastery of governance processes as a consensus builder and a stickler for due process. Just like the governor, the CoS is widely acknowledged as a man of vision who resists any ploy to derail the delivery of good governance in Osun state.
“As a strong gatekeeper, the Chief of Staff ensures the state was not defrauded by Sally Tibbot and Mr Governor is proud of the role Hon. Akinleye played and is still playing in the delivery of democratic dividends to the Osun people. No amount of blackmail will dent the reputation of integrity and service the CoS has built over the years.
“The tantrums from Osun APC are understandable. Where the opposition failed, the Governor succeeded bountifully. The approval rating of Mr Governor is today over 80 percent while the disapproval rate for Osun APC has climbed to more than 85 per cent.
“Osun APC faces severe electoral punishment for wilfully inflicting hardship on Osun people, for hijacking over N200 billion of LG fund, for failing to apologise for its sordid governance records and for consistently plotting to subvert the electoral will of Osun people”, the spokesperson stated.
