Teachers’ Recruitment: Osun Releases First Batch Supplementary List

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved the release of the supplementary list to Batch 1 of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise in the state.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, Mr Muritala Jimoh on Sunday, a copy obtained by our reporter.

Jimoh said that with the supplementary list, the total number of applicants being employed now stands at 1,241.

“This is to inform the general public and education stakeholders in Osun State that His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has graciously approved the release of the supplementary list to Batch 1 of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise in the State.

“This development now brings the total number of applicants being employed to a total of 1241 as against the initial 1000 mark to give room for more qualified unemployed youths to be absorbed into the teaching profession thereby improving learning outcomes in our primary and secondary schools across the state,” the statement noted.

Providing the breakdown, the Permanent Secretary said, “The breakdown of this figure now stands at 660 for SUBEB, 526 for TESCOM and 55 for Education Officers.”

Jimoh urged the successful candidates to check their names on the lists accordingly and proceed to commence necessary profiling and documentation.

“While congratulating all the successful candidates, it is expected that they contribute their quota towards the improvement of the education sector in their new engagement as teachers. They should also display professionalism in teaching for better performance and outcomes,” the statement concluded.

Recall that the state government had on March 06, released the names of the first batch of successful applicants for immediate recruitment into both public primary and secondary schools in the state.
