[Sponsored] Ten Years After: Remembering Elder Tolani Awotayo, Founder Of Mamsa Publisher Limited
By Olasoji Awotayo
It has been ten years since the passing of Elder Tolani Awotayo (B.A, M.A, Ife), founder of Mamsa Publisher Limited, yet his legacy continues to resonate deeply within his family, community, church, and the literary world he helped shape.
On this tenth remembrance, loved ones and associates gathered in reflection not only to mourn his absence but to celebrate a life marked by impact, mentorship, and service.
Elder Tolani Awotayo was widely regarded as more than an educator. He was a mentor who believed every child carried a spark worth nurturing. Through laughter, guidance, and thoughtful engagement, he inspired young minds to think critically, dream boldly, and embrace the power of their voices.
A writer, poet, and African linguist, he founded Mamsa Publisher Limited and RemiTolani Nigeria Limited, platforms through which he promoted emerging voices and gave visibility to stories from families and communities that might otherwise have gone unheard. His writing and poetry often reflected the struggles and triumphs of everyday life, offering comfort, hope, and a reminder of resilience in adversity.
Beyond his professional accomplishments as a federal officer who retired as Head of Public Enlightenment, he was a devoted husband and father. His children remember him as a guiding presence whose warmth filled the home and whose words carried wisdom and direction.
In his community, Elder Tolani Awotayo was known as a bridge-builder from Ora Igbomina to the wider world, someone who united people, listened attentively, and worked for the collective good. His efforts, sacrifices, and the many lives he influenced remain part of his enduring legacy.
As his family marks ten years since his passing, they also reflect on the recent loss of his beloved wife, Deaconess Oluremi Awotayo, who joined him a few months ago. The family says they take comfort in faith and in the belief that their journeys are now continued beyond this life.
Elder Tolani Awotayo’s story lives on, not only in books and memories, but in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
