A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Special Adviser to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Aremo Lateef Taofeek Adelabu, has condemned the attack orchestrated by those he described as “desperate opposition elements” on the campaign office of the Executive Director, Marine and Operations of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Olalekan Badmus.

Recall that the campaign office/situation room established by Badmus to support the governorship aspiration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) was attacked by hoodlums suspected to working for politicians.

Reacting to the development, Adelabu urged the security agencies to deploy all necessary resources to thoroughly investigate the issue, identify the sponsors and perpetrators, and ensure that they are promptly arrested and brought to book.

He commended Badmus over his efforts and his immense contribution towards the victory of APC in the August 15 gubernatorial election, Adelabu saluted the exceptional doggedness, resilience, and unwavering commitment of Badmus, saying his tireless efforts, strategic acumen, and grassroots mobilization have significantly contributed to the growing momentum and impending victory of our great party in the forthcoming August gubernatorial election.

He affirmed that “Omo-Olore remains a shining example of dedication and purposeful leadership, and his contributions continue to inspire thousands across the length and breadth of Osun State.

“I, Aremo Lateef Taofeek Adelabu, Aspirant for the House of Representatives, Osogbo Federal Constituency, unequivocally and vehemently condemn the reprehensible and barbaric attack orchestrated by desperate opposition elements on the campaign office/situation room of the indefatigable Hon. Olalekan Badmus, popularly known as Omo-Olore, located at Jamegbo Bus-Stop, Isale Osun, Osogbo.

“This dastardly act of political thuggery and intimidation represents a blatant assault on democratic norms, the rule of law, and the fundamental right of citizens to engage in peaceful political activities. It is not only despicable but also a clear manifestation of political immaturity and intolerance by those who have evidently run out of ideas and are now resorting to violence and hooliganism as a substitute for superior argument and genuine service to the people.

“Such cowardly conduct has no place in the progressive politics of Osun State and must be roundly rejected by all well-meaning citizens.

“I therefore call on the Osun State Commissioner of Police to immediately swing into action by deploying all necessary resources to thoroughly investigate this heinous attack, identify the sponsors and perpetrators, and ensure that they are promptly arrested and brought to book.

“The security agencies must act decisively and without fear or favour to send a strong message that political violence will not be tolerated in Osun State. Anything short of a swift and comprehensive investigation will be viewed as a dereliction of duty and an encouragement to agents of darkness.

“Despite this unfortunate provocation, I salute the exceptional doggedness, resilience, and unwavering commitment of Hon. Olalekan Badmus (Omo-Olore). His tireless efforts, strategic acumen, and grassroots mobilization have significantly contributed to the growing momentum and impending victory of our great party in the forthcoming August gubernatorial election.

“Omo-Olore remains a shining example of dedication and purposeful leadership, and his contributions continue to inspire thousands across the length and breadth of Osun State.

“As we approach this critical election, I seize this medium to passionately appeal to the good, peace-loving, and development-oriented people of Osun State to come out en masse and cast their votes for our party’s gubernatorial candidate, AMBO.

“This is not merely a choice of party, but a decisive vote for continued progress, good governance, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and the overall prosperity of our dear State. Let us reject violence and embrace the ballot as the only acceptable instrument of political change.

“Together, we shall overcome every machination of the opposition and deliver a landslide victory that will further entrench good governance in Osun State”.
