Another Aide Resigns From Aiyedatiwa’s Cabinet
Another aide to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has stepped down from office, bringing to three the number of resignations recorded within the governor’s team in recent days.
Yinka Richards, who served as Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, submitted his resignation in a letter dated February 16, 2026, with the decision scheduled to take effect on February 18.
In the letter addressed to the governor, Richards expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, describing his time in the administration as a privilege that allowed him to contribute to governance and developmental initiatives in the state.
He explained that his decision followed careful consideration, noting that he intends to focus on a national assignment and advance the next stage of his political and professional career.
The latest resignation comes shortly after two senior media aides exited the administration within a 48-hour period.
Pastor Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila resigned as Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, while Olugbenga Abire stepped down from his role as Special Assistant on Media.
As of the time of filing this report, the state government had yet to release an official statement addressing the recent wave of resignations.
