Diasporan, Bashorun Adewoye Backs Adeleke Re-election

A leading member of the Accord in the Diaspora, Bashorun Opeyemi Yusuf Adewoye, popularly known as La-Bash, has thrown his weight behind the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the August 8, 2026 governorship poll, lauding the governor’s efforts in transforming Osun state and delivering for the people of the state.

Bashorun Adewoye praised Governor Adeleke reviving the hopes of the people through impactful governance, noting that the Adeleke administration has focused on alleviating the pains of the people through improved welfare and position Osun for sustainable growth through strategic investment in the critical infrastructures.

“If the choice is about progress, then the choice should be Governor Ademola Adeleke. We all know what Osun state was before the coming of Governor Adeleke and the transformation that has happened under his watch,” Bashorun Adewoye noted.

“Welfare of both pensioners and workers have taken a turn for the better as months of owed half salary by the APC-led administration has been significantly addressed by Governor Adeleke. By all measures, pensioners and workers are now better off than they were under the APC-led government and this kind of progress must be allowed to continue with the re-election of Governor Adeleke.”

Bashorun Adewoye called on eligible voters in Osun to totally reject the overtures of the APC to return to the state and reverse the positive trends that the state is making under Governor Adeleke, stressing that the only way to sustain the unprecedented development in the state is to vote massively for Governor Adeleke in the August 8, 2026 governorship poll.

“Major towns in Osun state are wearing a new look as a result of massive infrastructural projects. From Iwo to Ila, Ilesa to Ede, Governor Adeleke is making the hitherto impossible dual carriageway a reality, and in Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilization, the first of its kind flyover is emerging and opening the doors for economic renaissance,” he said.

“What we have seen so far under Governor Adeleke is unprecedented and any citizen who want this progress to continue must give their votes for Governor Adeleke. Anybody running around to halt this progress are trying to return us to the dark past and Osun people must take their destinies in their hands by using their thumbs to reject them at the poll.”

The founder of La-Bash foundation declared his resolve and that of other Osun-born diasporas to mobilise for the re-election of Governor Adeleke in order to sustain the progress recorded under him, adding that as people who have a feeling of what progress meant, it is prepared to give its support to the genuine efforts of Governor Adeleke to make Osun state the envy of all.

“As people who have experienced what development actually meant in our place of current abode, we are so proud that Governor Adeleke is demonstrating that similar thing can be achieved if the current progress is sustained. Therefore, I want to implore our people at home to shun temporary benefits which seems to be what those who failed in the past are dangling to enable them continue the misgovernance that drained hopes and firmly stand by a Governor (Adeleke) who has shown unparallel commitment to the welfare of the people and the development of the state.”
