RAAMP, Osun Commissioner, Others Pay Tribute to Late Prince James Oladoja Adedokun
The Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon. Gani Olaoluwa Asejere, has described the late Prince James Oladoja Adedokun( Raamp Development Communication Specialist) as a resilient and hardworking officer who remained fully committed to his duties throughout his years of service.
He made the remark during the burial service held in Iwo, Osun State, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, where family members, colleagues, friends and well-wishers gathered to bid farewell to Prince Adedokun, a dedicated public servant and community development advocate who passed away on Wednesday night, March 11, 2026.
Also paying tribute, the Project Coordinator of the Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAAMP), Engr. Popoola Rasaq Okediya, described the deceased as a diligent and dependable staff member whose contributions to the project would be greatly missed.
In the same vein, Hon. Sunday Akere, First Vice District Governor of Osun New Era Lions Club, described the late Prince Adedokun as a committed member who was always willing to assist others and contribute positively to humanitarian causes.
Delivering the funeral sermon titled “Before You Sleep,” Rev. Dr. M. Oye Abioye, who preached from John 1:4, Revelation 21:8 and Revelation 2:11, reminded the congregation that the earth is not a permanent home and urged everyone to live according to the will of God and serve their generation faithfully. He noted that those who serve God diligently do not die but sleep in the Lord, describing Prince Adedokun as a good man who lived a purposeful life and served humanity faithfully.
Members of the Baptist College Old Students Association (BACOSA) also recalled his positive impact and support for the association, particularly during his time as a teacher in the school, noting that he remained a proud ambassador of the institution.
The late Prince James Oladoja Adedokun was born on October 4, 1965, into the Ogunmakinde Ande Royal Family of Daudu Agba in Iwo.
He began his early education at Olele Primary School, Okeho in Oyo State, before proceeding to Local Authority Commercial Modern School, Iwo, and later Baptist College, Iwo, where he obtained certification as a Grade II teacher.
Determined to further his education, he later attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where he obtained both his National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND).
He began his career as a Grade II teacher at Methodist Primary School, Ile-Ogbo, before moving into community development work as a consultant with the Community and Social Development Agency in Ekiti State for about ten years.
He later joined the Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAAMP) in 2010 as a Development Communication Specialist, a position he held until his death.
