Alleged Misconduct: Police Commission Punishes 35 Officers

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has released the names of successful applicants for the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), following the conclusion of the nationwide recruitment exercise.

The Sokoto State Police Command disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufai.

According to the statement, the recruitment exercise was conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Careers and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.

The Commission advised all candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination to visit the official recruitment portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, to check their recruitment status.

It stated that the portal would be activated from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The statement added that successful applicants would also receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers they provided during the application process.

According to the PSC, successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times that will be communicated later for documentation and medical screening.

The Commission warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer of appointment.

It further noted that candidates who do not pass the medical examination to be conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption at the training institutions would be declared medically unfit and withdrawn from the exercise.

Successful candidates were directed to report with their training call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original copies and photocopies of their educational certificates, as well as other required documents and items specified on the recruitment portal.
