Osun Decides 2026: Accord Senatorial Candidate Votes, Calls For Peace, Security Neutrality

The Accord Party’s senatorial candidate, Ganiyu Olaoluwa Asejere, has cast his vote in Ward 1, Polling Unit 17, located at Olu Alabi Junction in Olorunda Local Government Area of Osun State.

Speaking with journalists shortly after voting on Saturday, Asejere described the situation at his polling unit as peaceful, noting that there were no security concerns.

He, however, urged security personnel deployed for the election to remain neutral and ensure a free and fair electoral process.

“There is no situation on the ground. Security personnel should remain neutral,” he said.

Expressing confidence in the outcome of the election, Asejere said voters would peacefully exercise their civic rights and proceed to the collation centres, where he believes Governor Ademola Adeleke would emerge victorious.

“We will vote and go to the collation centre, and Governor Ademola Adeleke will emerge,” he said.

The Accord candidate also appealed to residents across other polling units in the state to maintain peace and avoid any form of violence during the exercise.

He called on party supporters and voters to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the election.

Meanwhile, voting at Ward 1, Polling Unit 17, was observed to be peaceful, with a large turnout of voters.

Residents were seen arriving steadily to cast their ballots, while electoral officials and security personnel carried out their duties without disruption.
