By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
Chairmen and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ayedade, Irewole and Isokan Local Government Areas of Osun State have expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the August 15 governorship election, assuring that the three councils are fully mobilised to deliver overwhelming votes for the party’s candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
The party leaders gave the assurance during an APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Ikire, where state leaders visited the Irewole/Ayedade/Isokan Federal Constituency to assess the level of grassroots mobilisation and strengthen the party’s campaign structure ahead of the poll.
Speaking at the meeting, the APC South-West Publicity Secretary and representative of the federal constituency, Hon. Ayo Afolabi, described the visit as an opportunity for the state leadership to witness the level of unity and commitment among party members across the three local government areas.
According to him, the interaction demonstrated the determination of party members to work collectively for the success of the APC in the forthcoming election.
“We are delighted to receive our leaders because this visit has afforded them the opportunity to see the high level of cooperation that exists within our constituency. They have also witnessed the commitment and sacrifices our members have continued to make in sustaining the APC as the leading political force in Osun State,” Afolabi said.
He noted that members had intensified mobilisation efforts across Ayedade, Irewole and Isokan, expressing confidence that the renewed engagement with party leaders would further strengthen the campaign.
Afolabi urged eligible voters across the constituency and the state to turn out in large numbers on election day and support the APC governorship candidate.
“By voting for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the people will be choosing a government committed to greater development, improved governance and expanded opportunities for all communities in Osun State,” he added.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Ayedade Local Government, Hon. Ayo Toyosi, described the visit by the state leadership as timely, saying it would help resolve issues affecting the party at the grassroots.
He said the interaction had boosted the morale of party members and demonstrated the leadership’s commitment to engaging directly with members rather than relying on reports from intermediaries.
“We appreciate this visit because it came at the right time. Our leaders have listened to us and have seen firsthand the realities on the ground. This approach gives us greater confidence that the party is moving in the right direction,” Toyosi said.
He maintained that Ayedade had remained a stronghold of the progressive family over the years and pledged that the local government would once again deliver impressive results for the APC.
According to him, the emergence of the party’s governorship candidate from the federal constituency has further energised members and strengthened their resolve to secure victory for the party.
“Our campaign structures are fully operational, our supporters are highly motivated, and we are determined to deliver overwhelming votes for APC and AMBO on August 15,” he stated.
The Chairman of Isokan Local Government, Hon. Odetunde Olagoke, also commended the prevailing unity among party leaders and members, describing it as a major asset ahead of the governorship election.
He said the level of cooperation across the constituency reflected a shared commitment to ensuring victory for the APC.
“I am encouraged by the unity and commitment displayed by our leaders and members. This spirit of togetherness is what every political party requires to achieve electoral success,” Olagoke said.
He urged members to sustain the momentum and continue working harmoniously under the guidance of the party leadership.
Expressing optimism about the outcome of the election, Olagoke said the level of mobilisation across all wards in Isokan Local Government had convinced him that the APC would record a stronger performance than in previous elections.
“Every ward is actively involved in the campaign, and our members understand the significance of this election. We are confident that the results from Isokan will surpass those of previous elections,” he added.
