APC Chieftain, Ayonic Distributes Free Fuel In Osogbo

-Rallies Support For Oyebamiji Ahead Of 2026 Osun Governorship Poll

By Hamidat Olatunde, Osogbo

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, Hon. Abdullahi Ayodeji Olaiya, popularly known as Ayonic, on Wednesday distributed free Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to residents and transport operators in Osogbo as part of efforts to give back to society and mobilise grassroots support for the party ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

Speaking at the outreach programme, Olaiya, a native of Osogbo, in Osogbo Local Government, said the initiative was aimed at easing the economic burden on residents, particularly transport workers, while also showcasing the goodwill and people-oriented philosophy of the APC.

According to him, the forthcoming gubernatorial election is critical to the future of Osun State, stressing the need for the state to align more closely with the Federal Government in order to benefit maximally from national policies and programmes under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Osun has been left behind for too long. We need to reconnect to the centre to enjoy more dividends of democracy from our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

“I commend Mr President for the tax reforms, local government autonomy and other impactful policies he has implemented,” Olaiya said.

Olaiya urged residents of the state to turn out in masses to support the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as a man of integrity, honour and capacity who would consolidate on the reforms of the Tinubu administration and reposition Osun for development.

Olaiya also appealed to youths, particularly in Osogbo, to rally behind the APC, assuring them that Oyebamiji’s administration would be youth-friendly and inclusive. He added that the free fuel distribution marked the beginning of a series of community-focused programmes aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots presence.

Also speaking, Alhaji Kazeem Yusuf of Ward 7, Osogbo Local Government, described the initiative as a demonstration of genuine leadership and compassion. He said the programme aligned with the vision of the APC governorship candidate to transform Osun from a largely commercial state into an industrialised economy.

“This programme is about poverty alleviation and improving the quality of life of our people, especially transport workers such as okada riders, tricycle operators and other informal sector participants. This is the essence of APC governance,” Yusuf said, praying for divine reward for the organiser.

Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, one of the beneficiaries, Adewale Fasooto, described the gesture as timely and impactful. He prayed for continued success and fulfillment for Olaiya, noting that the free fuel distribution had brought relief to many struggling residents.
