Osun Assembly Aspirant, Asiri Ede Meets APC Leaders, Promises Adequate Representation

Aspiring member of the Osun State House of Assembly for Ede South Constituency, Alhaji Abdullateef Olalekan popularly known as Asiri Ede, met with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Council in Ede, Ede South Local Government Area, to seek their support for his ambition.

Asiri Ede, who addressed the party leaders during a meeting on Sunday, appealed for their backing, support and guidance, assuring them of his readiness to provide effective and quality representation if elected.

Stating his longstanding commitment to the party, Asiri Ede said that his political involvement dated back to 2006 when he contested for the position of councillor, he added that he contested for local party chairman in 2010, ran for the position of local government chairman in Ede South in 2022, and also contested for the Osun State House of Assembly seat in 2023.

He further revealed that on several occasions when he intended to contest for positions, the party leadership advised him to step down, a decision he said he respected in the interest of the growth of the party and unity.

He informed the elders that he remained loyal and went on to support the party candidates in those elections.

“I have always respected the decisions of our party and supported those chosen to represent us. Today, I humbly seek for your support, prayers, and advice as I aspire to serve our people,” he said.

Olalekan pledged to prioritise the welfare of his constituents and ensure their interests are well represented at the state level.

Members of the APC Elders Council, Honourable Habideen Adabanija in his remarks, commended his consistency, as he described him as core APC member who has never defected to another party.

Adabanija said that , Asiri Ede had worked tirelessly for the growth of the party wishing him best of luck if he is eventually pick as the candidate.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the council, Hon. Johnson Ojo, saluted Asiri Ede for his courage, commitment and consistency to the party, advising him to remain committed as he pursues his ambition.
