Youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Ila, Ifedayo and Boluwaduro federal constituency of Osun State have declared total support for the candidacy of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ahead of the August 15 election, just as they urged party leadership to consider Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin (AIO) as their preferred candidate for the House of Representatives.
The declaration was made during a strategic youth gathering convened to mobilise grassroots support, strengthen campaign structures and ensure effective voter engagement across the constituency in preparation towards the forthcoming governorship election and 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the meeting, the APC chieftain, Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin, (AIO) said the coming election would be a defining moment for the people of the constituency, expressing confidence in a decisive victory for Oyebamiji.
According to him, the youth across Ila, Ifedayo and Boluwaduro have resolved to work collectively to mobilise voters, canvass support and safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
“We have come together as one to strategise and ensure that we deliver our mandate. From what we have seen and the work already done, it is clear that this will be a landslide victory for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji,” he said.
Oluwatosin emphasised that the support for the APC candidate in the constituency is organic and driven by genuine commitment, adding that the electorate cannot be swayed by what he described as substandard projects.
He criticised the state government’s infrastructural claims, particularly road projects across parts of the constituency, insisting that residents are not convinced by what is being presented as development.
“We are not deceived. The people here understand what real development is, and what is being showcased does not meet that standard,” he stated.
On vote buying, Oluwatosin maintained that the youth have taken a firm stance against electoral inducement, stressing that they are committed to protecting their future.
“We are not selling our mandate or the future of our children. Whatever votes we deliver will be free, fair and based on conviction, not financial inducement,” he added.
Other youth leaders at the gathering echoed similar views, noting that coordinated mobilisation efforts are already underway, including door-to-door campaigns and community engagement initiatives.
Youth leader in Ifedayo Local Government, Azeez Kazeem, said the group is confident of victory, adding that efforts are being intensified to reach every household within the constituency.
Also speaking, Comrade Ibrahim Ayomide Alabi, Public Relations Officer of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Osun State and APC student Coordinator in Ila, disclosed plans to mobilise over 10,000 students in support of the party.
Alabi described the election as a serious political engagement that requires competent leadership, stressing that students and youths are fully aligned with the APC’s objectives.
The youth leaders also used the occasion to appeal to party stakeholders to prioritise youth inclusion by granting the House of Representatives ticket to Hon. Oluwatosin, whom they described as a credible and unifying figure.
They expressed confidence that his candidacy would further galvanise support and enhance the party’s chances of sweeping the polls in both the upcoming election and the 2027 general elections.
