2026 Osun: APC Inaugurates Grassroots Canvassers In Ijesa South
-Says Adeleke’s Days In Office Are Numbered
The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday inaugurated its canvassers across the Ijesa South Federal Constituency as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The exercise, which attracted large crowds of party faithful and supporters, commenced at the Osu Town Hall in Atakumosa West Local Government Area, moved to the Iperindo Town Hall in Atakumosa East Local Government Area, and concluded at the S.B. Bakare Field, opposite Ilesa Grammar School, for members from Ilesa East and Ilesa West local government areas.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council and member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Oluwole Oke, charged the newly inaugurated canvassers to remain committed to the task of mobilizing support for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
Oke said the responsibility entrusted to the canvassers was crucial to the party’s success at the polls, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the forthcoming election.
According to him, he understands how the process of removing a sitting governor works and is prepared to pursue that objective through intensive grassroots mobilization and voter engagement.
Also speaking with journalists, former Head of Service in Osun State and Federal Commissioner representing Oyo and Osun States at the Federal Civil Service Commission, Abuja, Dr. Gboyega Oyebade, described the inauguration as a strategic step toward strengthening the party’s structure at the polling-unit level.
“We are here to mobilize canvassers across polling units in Ilesa East and Ilesa West. We have canvassers assigned to polling units across our wards. The essence of this programme is to acquaint them with the assignment of promoting the candidacy of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO),” he said.
Oyebade explained that following the inauguration, the canvassers would undergo training to equip them with the necessary skills for effective voter engagement and mobilization across polling units, wards and local government areas.
He commended the turnout recorded at the various venues, describing it as impressive and orderly.
“To the glory of God, the crowd we have seen today is massive and disciplined. There has been no violence, and everyone is excited about the task ahead. By the grace of God, victory is certain,” he added.
The inauguration forms part of the APC’s ongoing grassroots campaign strategy aimed at consolidating support across communities and strengthening its structures ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
