Sokoto NUJ, Correspondents’ Chapel Mourns Goronyo
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council, is deeply saddened by the passing of its colleague, Mohammed Ibrahim Goronyo of Aljazeera Newspaper, after a long illness.
Goronyo, who was the Financial Secretary of the chapel, was a dedicated and active member who ensured he covered every event he attended. His death has left a huge gap that won’t be easy to fill.
The statement read, “We remember him as a committed professional, a reliable ally, and a humble soul who inspired many with his passion for journalism and service to society. His integrity, dedication, and commitment to truth will be greatly missed”.
The NUJ family in Sokoto mourns his loss and extends condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and Al Jazeera Newspaper management. May Allah grant them strength during this difficult time.
Goronyo, 64, died on Wednesday evening and is survived by his wife and five children. He has been buried according to Islamic rites.
