Ede Muslim Council Bestows Honours on Muslims, Launches ₦500 Million Development Fund

All roads will lead to Ede on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of April 2026 when Ede Muslim Council will turban new leaders of Islam in the land with conferment of awards on distinguished Muslims from the ancient city.

A release jointly signed by Chairman of the Council, Dr. Musibaudeen Idris and chairman of the Publicity Committee, Imam Tirimiziyu Adekunle said the 2-Day event will have Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, LAMINISA 1 as the Royal Father of the day while the chief Imam of Edeland, Sheikh Mos’ud Husayn Akajewole will be the Spiritual Father of the day.

Other dignitaries expected to grace the event are the Baba Adinni of Edeland, Alhaji Ganiyu Lawal, as the Chief host, Alhaji Engr. Mustapha Olawuyi, President of the Osun State Muslim Community as the Special Guest of Honour.

Other dignitaries include, Alhaji Sulaiman Adebayo as the father of the day while Alhaja (Dr.) Balqees Akinleye, the wife of the Chief of Staff to Governor Adeleke, as the mother of the day.

The chairmen of the event are the former Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Barrister Adejare Bello and Alhaji Taofeek Kola Alimi, the CEO of Omoluwabi Holdings.

The release therefore enjoined all sons and daughters of the town especially Muslims to identify with the award recipients by attending the event scheduled to hold at the Ede Central Mosque l, Ọja Timi.

Apart from the turbanning and award ceremony, the council also planned to raise the sum of ₦500 million naira for the reconstruction of the Islamic Center in Ede for the propagation of Islam and use of Muslims in the town and beyond.
