Cleric Urges Politicians To Fulfil Promises As CEO Keziran Petroleum, Oyeladun, Distributes Ramadan Packages To Residents

An Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ridwanullah Opeyemi Aynur Ridor, has urged political leaders and public office holders to fulfill their promises and remain committed to serving the people, describing promise-keeping as a sacred obligation in Islam.

Aynur Ridor made the call on Saturday while delivering a keynote lecture at the Annual Ramadan Lecture and Empowerment Programme organised by the Chief Executive Officer of Keziran Petroleum, Hon. Ibrahim Oyeladun, in Osogbo, Osun State.

Speaking on integrity and accountability, the cleric said promise-keeping occupies a significant place in Islamic teachings, noting that human existence itself is tied to a covenant with God.

“Promise is very important. Even when we were coming into this world, we made a promise to God that He is the only one we will serve,” he said.

He urged politicians and leaders at all levels to fulfil the commitments they make to the people and to demonstrate generosity and compassion toward their constituents.

The event, held at the MRS Filling Station opposite the IBEDC office along Station Road in Osogbo, attracted several dignitaries, including Hon. Lekan Badmus, Hon. Ibrahim Taofeeq Kayode and other prominent personalities from across the state.

As part of the programme, foodstuffs were distributed to about 3,000 beneficiaries, while empowerment items, including sewing machines, a hair dryer and a vulcanizer generator, were donated to support livelihoods through the Ah-Rahamon Empowerment Foundation.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, who attended the programme, commended Oyeladun for sustaining the initiative and described him as a devoted Muslim committed to community development.

He noted that leadership positions ultimately come from God and pledged to demonstrate good character if elected.

“Only God puts one in a particular position,” he said.

In his remarks, Hon. Ibrahim Oyeladun explained that the Ramadan empowerment programme is an annual initiative aimed at supporting the less privileged during the holy month.

According to him, the programme was designed to assist vulnerable members of the community with food items and empowerment tools to help improve their living conditions.

“This is a yearly programme where we give the less privileged and the masses food items for them to enjoy the month of Ramadan,” he said.

Oyeladun also encouraged individuals in positions of influence to support those in need, stressing that acts of kindness and generosity attract divine rewards.

While speaking, the Director-General of the Ah-Rahamon Empowerment Foundation, Bamidele Mutiu, described the organisation as a humanitarian platform committed to assisting vulnerable people without discrimination.

He, however, noted that the foundation faces challenges such as limited funding and managing diverse groups of beneficiaries, stressing the need for selfless service.

“If you want to do anything with Ah-Rahamon, you must not be greedy,” he said.

Moreso, Dr. Imam Badmus Isa urged Muslims to intensify acts of charity during Ramadan, describing the holy month as a period that encourages compassion, generosity and community support.

He encouraged believers to emulate the example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by helping others, even if the gesture appears small.

“Give to people even if you do not have much. It is a seed. The best thing is to make an impact in the lives of people, and when you do so, there is a reward for it,” he said.
