YOWICAN Chairman Urges Christian Youths to Rise Beyond Division, Corruption, Violence

The National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Ven. Ademola Daniel Arowolo, has challenged Christian youths across Nigeria to rise above fear, division, corruption, violence, tribalism, drug abuse and hopelessness, describing these as critical barriers to national development.

Arowolo gave the charge while addressing participants at the ongoing 52nd Annual Session of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference (NBCYC), holding at Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State.

Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Beyond Limits,” the YOWICAN Chairman described it as timely, urging young Christians not to allow their backgrounds, financial circumstances, age, tribe or present challenges to determine their future.

According to him, Christian youths can overcome limitations by building genuine relationships with Jesus Christ, maintaining holiness and integrity, demonstrating diligence and excellence in service, standing for truth, and promoting unity across denominational lines.

He stressed that Nigeria needs a new generation of young people who are prepared to provide godly leadership and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the nation.

“Our nation needs a generation that will rise beyond fear, beyond division, beyond corruption, beyond drug abuse, beyond violence, beyond tribalism, and beyond hopelessness,” Arowolo said.

He urged young people to dream big, pray fervently, work diligently and trust God completely, stressing that present challenges should not determine their future.

Arowolo further called on Christian youths to embrace their responsibility as agents of positive transformation, noting that they are called to be “light in darkness” and influence society through godly leadership, integrity and service.

He reaffirmed YOWICAN’s commitment to promoting unity among Christian youths, peace, national development and the emergence of godly leaders capable of positively influencing Nigeria and other nations.

The YOWICAN Chairman expressed optimism that the convention would produce young men and women who would rise beyond limitations in academics, spirituality, professional pursuits, ministry and national leadership.

He also appreciated the leadership of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference for the invitation and commended his National Vice Chairman, Rev. Onajite Enunuaye, for his commitment to strengthening Christian youth unity across Nigeria.

Arowolo concluded by calling on the participants to trust God for renewed strength and to rise above every limitation in their personal lives, communities and the nation.

The Chairman was accompanied to the convention by Prince James Adeyeye, State Welfare Director; Segun Makinde, State CSN Bloc Head; Lady/Evang. Janet Omotoye, YOWICAN Coordinator, Iwo Local Government; Pastor Dare Omoboriowo, Prayer Coordinator, Iwo Local Government YOWICAN; and Senior Leader Wale Ajayi, Treasurer, Iwo Local Government YOWICAN.
