Osun Loses Two Prominent Traditional Rulers Within 24 Hours
Osun State has been thrown into mourning following the passing of two prominent traditional rulers within 24 hours
The monarchs are His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, and His Royal Majesty, Oba Muhammed Babatunde, the Olosun Jela of Osunjela.
It was gathered that , Oba Muhammed Babatunde passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, while Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran died the following day, Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The deaths of the two respected traditional rulers have sparked grief across their respective communities and the wider Osun State, as tributes continue to pour in from residents and well-wishers.
