Adeleke Warns Against Palace Invasion At Ikirun, Mobilises Security Agencies
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has warned against planned invasion and takeover of Ikirun palace, directing security agencies to mobilise and secure the palace ground immediately.
In a statement issued by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor warned that any prince found to be involved in the plot will be held accountable and culpable, declaring that “the palace remains sealed until conclusion of ongoing litigations on the Akirun stool”.
“ Any attempt to disturb the peace of Ikirun will not be tolerated by our government. The Akirun stool is a matter before the court and until the matter is resolved, no resort to self-help will be tolerated.
“I restored peace to Ikirun Community by an executive order, and it is only through my executive order that the palace can be re-opened. The recent effort of opening was just for the clearing and cleaning up of the environment so as to preserve one of our best traditional monuments. I hereby direct security agencies to secure the palace and prevent any illegal takeover of palace. All efforts should be deployed to sustain and maintain the peace of Ikirun”, the governor was quoted as saying.
