The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun, has commenced his second-term campaign with a tour of communities across Odo-Otin Local Government Area, promising to consolidate on his achievements and deliver more development to the constituency.
Egbedun, who represents Odo-Otin State Constituency in the Assembly, used the tour to engage residents, party leaders, traditional stakeholders and grassroots supporters, while seeking their continued support for another term in office.
During engagements across Asi/Asaba, Oyan, Ijabe/Ila Odo, Okuku, Okua/Ekusa, Ekosin/Iyeku, Faji/Opete, Inisa, Ore/Igbaye and Igbaye/Imuleke, the Speaker highlighted his interventions in empowerment, healthcare support, education, social welfare and community development.
He said his approach to representation extended beyond lawmaking to include initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of constituents and improving their living conditions.
Egbedun expressed appreciation to the people for their support and cooperation since he assumed office, adding that their confidence had continued to inspire his commitment to effective representation and grassroots development.
“The journey so far has been one of service, accountability and partnership with the people. I remain fully committed to making representation more meaningful, accessible and responsive to your needs and aspirations,” he said.
The Speaker assured constituents that a second term would provide an opportunity to consolidate on the gains recorded, expand existing interventions and pursue additional projects and programmes across the constituency.
He urged residents and party supporters to remain united and sustain their support, saying continuity in leadership would help advance development and strengthen the delivery of democratic dividends in Odo-Otin.
The campaign tour, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu, attracted enthusiastic receptions from residents and supporters in the communities visited, while party leaders and stakeholders expressed confidence in Egbedun’s leadership.
As the campaign gathers momentum, the Speaker reiterated that his re-election bid was driven by the desire to build on his record and improve the welfare of his constituents.
“The journey of development must continue, and the best of meaningful representation is still ahead,” he added.
