As the celebrations of Christmas gradually give way to the dawn of a new year, the National President of the Nigeria Baptist Convention Youth Conference (NBCYC), Ambassador Amos B. Kadanga, has called on Nigerians, particularly youths, to embrace 2026 as a season of renewal, preparation, and spiritual refocusing.

In a New Year message titled “Behold 2026!”, Amb. Kadanga described the transition into the new year as a divine opportunity for growth, restoration, and turnaround, regardless of the challenges or triumphs experienced in the outgoing year.

“Coming from the bustles and celebrations of Christmas beckons on us the start of a new year. Whatever the experiences of the past year, the new year offers an opportunity for more or a turnaround,” he said.

The NBCYC President noted that the New Year presents a moment to pause and reposition for greater effectiveness, stressing the importance of rest, reflection, and renewed commitment to purpose.

“It’s a season to unwind, prepare and refire,” Kadanga stated, adding that believers have the advantage of divine guidance.

“The Creator of times and seasons whom we serve is ever with us to reveal a new level of glory.”

Amb. Kadanga urged youths and believers across the country to intentionally engage the season by prioritising their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

“I implore you all in this season to rest your body, renew your mind, refire your spirit, restart your pursuits, retreat from distractions, and reign with God,” he charged.

He extended warm New Year greetings to members of the NBCYC and the Christian community at large, expressing optimism that 2026 would usher in greater fulfilment and divine alignment.

“Happy New Year, beloved,” the message read.
