Oyebamiji Vows Victory As APC Prepares For Osun Governorship Election

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has declared himself the candidate to beat, expressing confidence of victory in the August 8, 2026 poll.

Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, made the statement on Saturday during the annual end-of-year prayer session organised by the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Ikire branch, where he said his ambition was divinely ordained and would succeed despite all odds.

He thanked leaders and members of the APC across the state for their support, describing their commitment as evidence of a strong and united party ahead of the election. The event also featured the distribution of food items and cash gifts to more than 6,000 households to mark Christmas and the New Year.

Addressing the gathering, Oyebamiji said he had committed the election into the hands of God and remained optimistic about securing a landslide victory, adding that traditional rulers, including the Akire of Ikire and the Alapomu of Apomu, had pledged massive support from their subjects.

He expressed confidence that the Irewole, Isokan and Ayedaade Federal Constituency would deliver significant votes in his favour and dismissed allegations that the Osun State Signage Agency was preventing APC billboards, saying such actions would not distract him from his focus.

Oyebamiji also highlighted reconciliation within the party, noting that recent meetings led by Chief Adebisi Akande and Minister Adegboyega Oyetola had strengthened unity among stakeholders, ensuring a coordinated effort for his candidacy.

Earlier, Sheikh Monsuru Adekunle, Chief Imam of the Ansarudeen Society, described Oyebamiji as “a round peg in a round hole” for the APC candidacy, praising his competence, loyalty, and widespread acceptance, and expressing confidence in his victory.

Speaking to journalists, Oyebamiji’s wife, Dr Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, thanked APC leaders and residents for their support, noting the large turnout and distribution of food items to over 6,000 people as evidence of her husband’s popularity and acceptance among the electorate.
