3 Years In Office: Osundare Applauds Gov Adeleke, Hails ‘People-Centred Governance’

A frontline aspirant for the Oriade State Constituency seat, Hon. Osundare Osundokun congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke on the occasion of his third year anniversary in office.

He lauded the governor’s “masterclass in people-centred governance and sustainable development.”

This disclosure was made in a statement issued by his media team on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Osun dare said Adeleke’s scorecard across key sectors in the last three years stands out as “one of the most transformative in Osun’s recent history.”

He said the Adeleke administration has repositioned Osun as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising states in education as he cites sweeping reforms and infrastructure revival.

Among the achievements he highlighted were the renovation of schools across all LGAs, the completion of a 52-unit academic complex at The University of Osun (UNIOSUN) and the construction of the first-ever student hostel at the University of Ilesa.

He added that the administration also restored long-abandoned bursary payments, including the Law School bursary, introduced modern teacher retraining strategies, and created the Government–Alumni Partnership Board to support school development.

A marked leap in national examinations (from 33rd to 7th position) was described as proof of the governor’s education overhaul.

He also noted that Osun students represented Nigeria at the World Debate Day in Malaysia.

Osundokun said the result was nothing short of “a renaissance that has restored dignity, competitiveness, and confidence to Osun’s education system.”

Osundokun praised the revival of mechanisation schemes and farmer-support initiatives, as he described the agricultural sector as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the current administration.

He specifically pointed to the rehabilitation of old tractors and the acquisition of 31 new GPS-tracked tractors, which slashed mechanisation costs from ₦35,000/₦40,000 per acre to ₦20,000.

Other interventions include the distribution of 80,000 hybrid cashew seedlings, subsidies on cocoa and palm oil seedlings, and the revitalisation of poultry farming under the OBOPS scheme.

“Adeleke’s approach is not just agricultural support—it is economic freedom for thousands of Osun farmers,” he declared.

Osundokun thereafter applauded what he called one of the most transparent and far-reaching empowerment programmes in Osun’s history.

He said the government empowered 401 ward-based cooperatives with over ₦736 million, supported 250 cooperative unions with ₦800 million, and directly benefitted more than 10,000 citizens under the FOSCOOP scheme.

Other highlights include a ₦50 million revolving loan scheme for Osun indigenes in Abuja and the North, and grants and POS terminals for 2,000 women and youths under the Imole Business Empowerment Scheme.

He also noted the upgrade of the Senator Isiaka Adeleke College of Cooperative Studies into a UNIOSUN campus, set to begin academic activities in the 2025/2026 session.

Osundokun described the administration’s pace of infrastructure development as unprecedented, citing a string of completed and ongoing road and bridge projects. Completed dualisation projects include the Old Garage–Oke Fia–Lameco Road, Ona Baba Ona Road, Osogbo–Ikirun Road, and Akoda–Oke Gada Road.

Multiple flyovers such as the Oke Fia, Lameco, and Lagere (Ile-Ife) flyovers are nearing completion, while major dualisation works are progressing in Iwo, Ila, and Ilesa.

He added that over 300 kilometres of local roads have been completed in LGAs, while rural feeder roads have been rehabilitated to support farmers. Osun’s road deficit, he said, had been cut by more than half in three years.

The Oriade constituency hopeful said Governor Adeleke’s developmental footprint has strengthened his resolve to replicate people-driven governance if elected in 2027.

“Governor Adeleke has set a new standard for leadership, one rooted in transparency, compassion, accountability, and performance. Osun is now a model of what purposeful governance can achieve,” he said.

Osundokun urged residents, community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders to continue supporting the administration as it moves into another year of project delivery and citizen empowerment.
