Osun NULGE Raises Alarm Over False Usage Of Its Logo, Name By ‘Political Agents’
By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State Chapter, has raised the alarm over the illegal usage of its union’s logo and name by those it alleged as All Progressives Congress (APC) to push out “false information”.
NULGE dissociated itself from a statement allegedly issued by issued APC dated 20th September, 2025, wherein the Union’s name and logo were mischievously used to slam various allegations against the state NLC Chairman.
The union in a statement signed by its President, Comrade Nathaniel Kehinde Ogungbangbe, on Friday, and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, clarified that “it has no hand in, and is not in any way associated with, the said press release”.
“The attention of the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State Chapter, has been drawn to a press release issued by the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dated 20th September, 2025, wherein our Union’s name and logo were mischievously and fraudulently used.
“We state categorically and without any ambiguity that NULGE has no hand in, and is not in any way associated with, the said press release.
“The allegation against the NLC Chairman, which was smuggled into the said publication, is baseless and fake, and we distance our Union from such deliberate misinformation.
“The purported statement is purely a partisan political write-up, and it is both unethical and unlawful for any political party or individual to drag the name of our Union into such publications.
“We strongly warn those behind this act of forgery and misrepresentation to immediately desist from using the NULGE name or logo in any partisan or politically motivated statement.
“NULGE is a responsible trade union body with a mandate to protect the welfare and interest of our members, not a political tool to be manipulated for selfish ends.
“For the avoidance of doubt, NULGE is not a party to the press release circulated by the APC. The attempt to associate our Union with such a “very useless write-up” is hereby condemned in its entirety.
“We are also using this medium to put the public on notice: any further unauthorized use of the NULGE logo or name for political purposes will be met with appropriate legal and organizational action.”
