NUJ OSBC Chapel Holds Pen Week Amidst Funfair

Activities marking this year’s Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, OSBC Chapel’s  Press-Week Celebrations begin on Sunday, (September 28) with a church service at the C&S Church, St Michael Cathedral, Egbatedo Headquarters, Osogbo, in the morning; while there would be a reception and an interactive session, to be hosted by the Commander of Amotekun Corps in Osun State, Dr Isaac Adekunle Omoyele, immediately after the Church Service.

A statement jointly issued by the union’s Chairman, Comrade Lateef Agboola; and the Secretary, comrade Kamil Raheem; indicates that the grand finale holds on Thursday, October 2nd, where Oba Qamarudeen Adeyemi Adeyanju Alawode the fourth, the Olorooruwo of Orooruwo will be speaking on the lecture entitled *65 Years Amidst Mutual Suspicion: Which Way Nigeria?

The event to be chaired by the Executive Director, Nigerian Port Authority, Engr Lekan Badmos, will also feature the Presentation of award to a few selected eminent personalities, at the NUJ Pen Resource Centre, Ile Awiye, Oke Baale, Osogbo, in the morning .

It states further that, Free Medical Check-up and Health Talk will be conducted on Friday, October 3rd, as powered by Pathway Hospital, Osogbo; where over one hundred and fifty members of staff of OSBC Conglomerate, Youth Corps members and student interns are scheduled to benefit from; while Jumat Service will hold in the afternoon, after which the Chairman, Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSSIEC, Mr Hashim Abioye (Esq), will host members of the NUJ, OSBC Chapel, friends and well-wishers to a grand reception, immediately after the Jumat Service.

The Life Patron of the Union,who is also the Olowu of Kuta Kingdom, Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun, CON is the Royal Host and the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Oba Qamarudeen Adeyemi Alawode IV, will be the Royal Father of the day.
The Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on OSBC Matters, Dr Femi Adefila; the Chairman, OSBC Board, Engr. Mayowa Olosho and the Director General/Permanent Secretary of OSBC Conglomerate, Mrs Jolaade Igbaroola, are the Chief Hosts.
