Internal Sabotage Behind Rising Terror Attacks — APC
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that recent terrorist attacks across Nigeria are being fuelled by “internal saboteurs” working against the nation’s security.
In a statement on Saturday, APC spokesperson Seye Oladejo claimed that certain individuals within the security and political systems were aiding terrorist groups by leaking classified information, weakening operational structures, and deliberately undermining national security efforts.
Oladejo pointed to patterns in recent attacks, including unusual knowledge of troop deployments, disruptions at security checkpoints, and spikes in violence around political flashpoints, as evidence of insider collusion.
He also accused some political actors of amplifying terrorist propaganda for political gain.
“These are not random incidents. They reflect a disturbing level of betrayal,” Oladejo said.
The Lagos APC urged the Federal Government to identify and prosecute those allegedly sabotaging security operations.
The party reaffirmed its confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his administration ’s “ruthless, intelligence-led strategy” against terrorism and commending the Armed Forces for remaining committed despite acts of sabotage by “a few bad eggs.”
Oladejo warned that networks aiding terrorist activities would soon be exposed, asserting that “Nigeria will not be brought to its knees to satisfy the ambitions of saboteurs or external interests,” and expressed optimism that the country would overcome its current security challenges.
