APC Scribe Mourns Passing Of Diekola, Says ‘Osogbo Has Lost A Versatile Politician’
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Ajibola Basiru has expressed deep shock over the transition of a foremost politician in Osun State, Alhaji Fatai Diekola.
In his condolence message, Dr Basiru said the demise of the versatile politician has reverberated across and beyond the State, thus showing his calibre and status in politics.
“Alhaji Fatai Diekola was a politician of repute whose presence wherever he decided to pitch his tent was always felt. He was a lover of Osogbo, his hometown. He was a big brother to me, political divides notwithstanding. He did his best as the Chairman of Osogbo Local Government.”
“I will have a fond memory of FD, aside from being a fellow Arsenal fan, he was a dedicated grassroots politician with whom I maintained a cordial relationship even when we were no longer in the same political party. I sympathize with his wife and entire family of this versatile politician from Osogbo. I pray he finds peace with God, may Allaah accept his return and be with the family he has left behind.”
Alhaji Fatai Diekola, a graduate of the University of Ibadan, was the Chairman of the Prime Council and former Liaison Officer of the State House of Assembly.
