Saudi authorities have arrested two women believed to be the wife and mother of Ado Aliero, a notorious Nigerian bandit leader wanted for numerous crimes across Zamfara and the North-West region.

The arrests reportedly took place in Medina, where the women had been living under false identities.

Security sources revealed that the operation was a result of coordinated intelligence efforts between Nigerian and Saudi agencies.

A source involved in the investigation told ABC News, “This is a major step in dismantling the support network surrounding Ado Aliero. Their arrest may provide crucial intelligence about his movements, financial links, and transnational operations.”

Ado Aliero is widely known for masterminding mass abductions, killings, and armed attacks, evading capture for years due to a vast international support system.

Though Saudi authorities are yet to officially confirm the identities of the suspects, Nigerian intelligence has classified them as key figures in the ongoing probe into terrorism financing and logistics.

A counterterrorism analyst noted, “This development introduces an international dimension to Nigeria’s security challenges and raises new questions about the global footprints of these domestic terror cells.”

Nigerian security agencies were said to be collaborating closely with their Saudi counterparts as the investigation intensifies, hoping the intelligence gathered will deliver a decisive strike against Aliero’s network.network.
