Osun NSCDC Rescues Teenager Roaming The Streets
A 15-year old girl, Quadija Abimbola, was found wandering in Owode-Ede, Osun State.
Quadija, according to the Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kehinde Adeleke, was discovered roaming the streets at 1:00 a.m. on January 19, 2025.
A good Samaritan brought her to NSCDC division in Owode-Ede.
Reports indicated that Quadija had traveled with her mother, Mrs. Aishat Abimbola, and her three siblings from Lagos to Osun State to celebrate the new year. After the celebrations, her mother reportedly took her to the Owode-Ede market to sell detergent, promising to return later in the day. However, her mother failed to come back.
Efforts to locate Quadija’s parents or relatives have so far been unsuccessful.
The Osun State command of the NSCDC has appealed to the public for assistance in reuniting the girl with her family.
The Public Relations officer of the NSCDC, Kehinde Adeleke, stated that efforts were ongoing to locate the girl’s parents, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
“NSCDC Osun State Command is appealing to anyone with information about Quadija’s family to come forward and assist in reuniting her with her loved ones”.
