Osun 2026: Adopt Omoworare As Consensus Candidate To Defeat PDP, Adebayo Pleads With Tinubu, Agba Osun

A passionate call has gone out to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Agba Osun (APC elders and stakeholders) from Comrade Adeboye Adebayo, a leading voice within the progressives and an ardent advocate of party unity, urging the adoption of Senator Babajide Omoworare as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 Osun gubernatorial election.

Speaking on a television programme in Abuja, with visible concern for the party’s future in the state, Adebayo pleaded that only Omoworare’s candidacy can heal internal cracks within the APC, rekindle public confidence, and deliver a resounding victory over the ruling PDP in 2026.

According to him: “My plea is not out of personal interest but out of deep concern for the survival of our great party in Osun State. We cannot afford another round of division or a repeat of 2022. The PDP government has brought nothing but disappointment to the people, and they are yearning for a trusted alternative. Senator Babajide Omoworare embodies the unity, credibility, and capacity we need at this moment to reclaim Osun.”

Adebayo who was a spokesman at the APC, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in 2023, described Omoworare as a tested legislator, grassroots mobilizer, and loyal progressive, whose unblemished records and widespread acceptability cut across Ife, Ijesa, Osogbo, and all zones of the state. He warned that the APC risks jeopardizing its chances if elders fail to rally behind a candidate who commands natural respect and broad-based support.

With a voice filled with urgency, Adebayo further declared:

“This is a call from the heart. I plead with our father, President Tinubu, the national leadership, and the Agba Osun to take this bold step. Let us avoid unnecessary battles of ego and interest. Let us choose unity over division. For APC to win in 2026, we must adopt Senator Omoworare as our consensus candidate. He is the man who can lead us to victory and restore Osun to the path of true progressive governance.”

He also appealed to youths, women, and grassroots loyalists across Osun not to lose faith, assuring them that with the right choice of candidate, the APC will return stronger and more victorious than ever.
