Adeleke’s Aide Slams Osun NNPP Chairman, Odeyemi Over Call For Governor’s Removal

By Tosin Olasunkanmi, Osogbo

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Oladele Bamiji, has lashed out at the Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and its chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, over an alleged call to remove Governor Adeleke from office ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.

Bamiji said the Osun NNPP is utterly incompetent to assess a government of the people led by Governor Adeleke, claiming that Odeyemi lacks the requisite experience in leading people at the governance level throughout his life.

Odeyemi had, in a statement, criticised Adeleke’s governance as lacking direction and being focused on personal gain rather than the state’s development.

Odeyemi said: “Osun deserves better than the present governor. We need a leader with vast knowledge about governance who can rise above political sentiments and truly serve the people.”

Reacting, Bamiji, who doubles as the PDP Director of Media and Publicity, reminded Odeyemi that “governance is not all about the deceitful carriage of a convoluted saddest, where citizens are clandestinely shortchanged with the mind of a newly recruited soldier while doing nothing in actual fact.”

“Mr. Tosin Odeyemi is utterly incompetent to assess a government of the people led by His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, because he lacks the requisite experience in leading people at the governance level all his life.

“All Tosin was known for in the state has been scavenging around through one mushroom political platform or another, where he tries to market his stained personality to some other desperate political suitors through some crumbs-seeking, careless statements like he just did.

“Tosin should know that governance is not all about the deceitful carriage of a convoluted saddest, where citizens are clandestinely shortchanged with the mind of a newly recruited soldier while doing nothing in actual fact.

“If Tosin would not feign mental exile, he should have at least acknowledged the several strides of Governor Ademola Adeleke in massive infrastructure intervention, which has seen the government constructing over 200 kilometers of road, with a first-of-its-kind flyover in Ilé-Ifè—where he plies his controversial church trade and where he has once been accused and arrested for the rape of a member. He should have attested to the summary solution brought to the traffic gridlock in Osogbo with the construction of a dual carriageway from the Old Garage to the Lameco axis, with another two flyovers already being completed, all within two years of the administration of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“As a supposed pastor scavenging in politics, Tosin should be truthful to his conscience and acknowledge the empathic efforts of Governor Ademola Adeleke in clearing salary arrears of the state workforce, deliberately left unpaid by the defeated APC administration in the state, spanning over 33 months and running into several billions of Naira. This is aside from the free Health Insurance Scheme for all pensioners and PWDs. Tosin should verify this with any elderly members of his family, if any, who are retirees in the Osun State workforce.

“Over 200 health centers have also been rehabilitated and equipped to global standards to cater to the health needs of our people at the grassroots. Had Tosin not been too busy with the petty hustle of side talks like he did today, he should be aware of all these, unless that is his own biblical or personal definition of jamboree.

“By the grace of God and the support of the good people of Osun State, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke is in charge of governance in Osun State. This, however, does not mean he should discard members of his immediate family, as I suspect that is the import of Tosin’s multiple governors analogy. Tosin, by his controversial, prodigal, and lost sheep background, should not expect every other family man who finds himself in a position of authority to discard or disconnect from their family embrace just because Tosin lacked such love in his life trajectory.”
