On January 21 morning, right after his inauguration, US President Donald Trump announced the dismissal of four senior government officials who were appointed by his predecessor, signaling a significant shift in his administration as he warned that “over a thousand more” could soon follow.

This announcement marked Trump’s first post on Truth Social since taking office.

“My Presidential Personnel Office is actively identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who do not align with our vision to Make America Great Again,” Trump stated.

He specifically mentioned the immediate termination of four individuals: Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition; Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council; Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars; and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council.

The post served as an “Official Notice of Dismissal” for these four officials and hinted at more dismissals to come. It concluded with Trump’s iconic catchphrase, “YOU’RE FIRED!”, a nod to his time as the star of the popular television show “The Apprentice.

In the wake of this announcement, many government institutions are preparing for potential upheaval in the near future. If Trump follows through on his campaign promises to downsize the civil service and enhance efficiency, it could result in the closure of entire departments.
