Group Calls On President, Akande, Oyetola, Others For Meeting On Osun APC Governorship Zoning

-Renews Call For Zoning Of Ticket To Osun West

The Progressive Frontliners (TPF), a group within the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on President Bola Tinubu and other party leaders to convene an urgent meeting to reach a consensus on zoning the party’s governorship ticket to Osun West Senatorial District.
During a solidarity walk along Technical/Oke-Fia Road on Thursday,TPF State Coordinator, Ajijola Ayodele emphasized that such a decision would prevent division within the party and ensure a more strategic approach ahead of the primaries.
Ayodele argued that allocating the ticket to Osun West would motivate other districts to intensify efforts in mobilizing support for the APC.
“In the spirit of Ramadan, we urge the leadership of the party—including President Bola Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, APC National Chairman Abdulahi Ganduje, National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, Osun APC Chairman Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, and the Agba Osun elder caucus—to convene an urgent meeting and unanimously agree on zoning the governorship ticket to Osun West Senatorial District,” he stated.
He further stressed that zoning the ticket to Osun West would allow the party to remain focused and prevent aspirants from other districts from causing internal divisions.
“For years, Osun West has played a crucial role in advancing the party’s vision and has consistently supported progressive candidates from other districts in every gubernatorial election. Despite this loyalty, no aspirant from Osun West has been given the opportunity to represent our party in a governorship election since the return of democracy in 1999,” Ayodele noted.
He highlighted that Osun West is home to vibrant communities and resourceful individuals who have significantly contributed to the APC’s successes and the state’s socioeconomic growth.
“As a strong group within the APC, we remain committed to the unity and progress of the party ahead of the 2026 election. We have mobilized thousands of our members to reclaim Osun State in 2026,” he added.
In addition, TPF reaffirmed its commitment to rallying party members and supporters to ensure APC’s victory in 2026.
They extended their condolences to the families of party members who lost their lives in the recent local Government administration crisis, including the late Irewole chairman, Honourable Remi Abass.
“We also extend our condolences to our party and the families of the valiant individuals who lost their lives during the council administration turmoil, which tragically claimed the lives of Honourable Remi Abass, the reinstated chairman of Irewole, and others. May their souls rest in peace”.
As the holy month of Ramadan continues, the group called for unity and reflection among party leaders, urging them to make decisions that strengthen the APC and promote fairness within its ranks.
“We extend our warmest Ramadan wishes to the distinguished members of APC and all Muslims throughout the state. May this holy month usher peace, prosperity, and blessings into your homes. Let us endeavor to create a future where every corner of Osun State is duly represented and encompassed within the APC’s vision for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections. May the collective aspirations for progress and unity prevail, embodying the true essence of our progressive ideals.
