In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Abdul Rasheed Aderibigbe, the government said the holiday would allow traditional religion worshippers across the state to participate in the annual celebration.
The statement noted that Governor Ademola Adeleke, while felicitating with adherents of traditional religion, recognized and honoured the cultural heritage and traditions of the people of the state, as well as the need to promote cultural awareness and unity.
The governor wished all faithful a joyous celebration and urged them to observe the festival peacefully and adhere to all laws and regulations in order to maintain peace, order, and respect for others during the festivities.
The Isese Festival, celebrated annually in all parts of Yorubaland, is a day set aside to honour the traditions and values of the Yoruba people.
