OAU Announces Resumption Date, Unveils 2024/2025 Academic Calendar

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife, has announced that the academic activities for 2024/2025 session will officially commence on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

This was contained in a statement released by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, following the approval from the University Senate at its sitting on Thursday.

According to him, fresh students will be welcomed to the school in two batches, with students from Faculty of Administration, Art, Environmental Design and Management (EDM), Education, Laws and Social Sciences are to arrive on Saturday 11, 2025.

It will be followed by their fellow counterparts in the Faculty of Agriculture, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Dentistry, Pharmacy Science and Technology on Sunday, October 12.

Also, the online registration will kick off on Monday 13, 2025. This will be followed by an orientation programme from 13 to 17 and ICT Training Scheduled for the week of October 20 to 24, 2025.

Meanwhile, returning undergraduate students are expected to be back on Campus on Sunday October 26, 2025, signaling the full return of the student population.

“Full academic lectures for all students are schedule to begin on Monday, October 27, 2025. The University has set a deadline of October 31, 2025, for normal course registration, with the late registration attracting a penalty from November 24 to 28, 2025.

“Furthermore, Matriculation Ceremony for the new intakes will hold on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

“The Harmattan Semester is planned to run through March 2026, featuring 13 weeks of lectures, a revision week, and examination periods. The Rain Semester for the session is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 30, 2026”.

In the statement, the university reiterated its “commitment to delivering a structured and flexible academic year that supports intellectual growth, innovation, and holistic student development,” as it looks forward to welcoming both new and returning students.
