PHOTO NEWS: Massive Turnout Mark PDP National Convention In Ibadan
Waves of delegates in colourful regalia streamed into the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State, venue of the ongoing National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as pockets of supporters huddled across the grounds, quietly mapping out strategies for their preferred candidates.
Reports indicated that the stadium and its surrounding areas were bustling with activity, with the planning committee putting measures in place to manage the large crowd expected at the event.
Traffic was redirected from the main gate to alternative access points to ensure smooth movement, while the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) coordinated with the government to organise taxi operators and motorcycle riders, ensuring unimpeded access for delegates and guests.
Security at the venue was heavily fortified, with personnel from various law enforcement agencies deployed to maintain order throughout the convention.
Delegates had been arriving since Friday, and hotels across Ibadan were reportedly filled to capacity.
Activities also extended to the Government House, where a series of meetings and planning sessions were held to ensure a successful convention.
The national convention has continued to draw party leaders and delegates from across the country, even as controversy and internal tensions surround the event.
