In a sharp rebuke to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman’s vow to win all future governorship elections, starting with Osun State, a deluge of social media comments paints a picture of vehement rejection for the party, predicting a “massive” defeat in the 2026 poll.

The comments, gathered from under a Nigerian Tribune news report on Facebook, overwhelmingly endorse current Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for his performance as he prepares to contest the 2026 election under platform of Accord, signaling a steep uphill battle for the APC’s ambitions in the state.

Professor Nentawe Yilwatda declared on Friday that the party would not lose another governorship election after Anambra, stating, “Osun State will be a shift from what we experienced in Anambra. That’s the last election we will lose.” as he inaugurated a committee to oversee the party’s primary and reclaim the state.

However, the public response, as seen online, directly counters this confidence. Hundreds of comments uniformly project failure for the APC, citing Governor Adeleke’s (“Imole”) governance as the people’s preferred choice.

“Your party is rejected in Osun State. The FG will have to be careful to allow the will of the people to prevail if it would ever be able to achieve cohesion for 2027 to hold. APC is bound to fail in Osun State. Governor Ademola Adeleke is on the ground.”

“You will still lose more by special grace of God and IMOLE will win.”

“Your party will lose this one again, never APC again in Osun state people don wise.”

“APC will still lose Osun gallantly.”

“APC keh? Olohun maje oooo, Gov Ademola Adeleke till 2030 as an Osun state governor insha’Allah.”

“Bring your madness on…we dey on ground for una.”

“This man dey play. Imole till 2030 by God Grace.”

“Osun workers know where they suffered, and they know where they are finally breathing again. Facts don’t lie. That is why promoting APC in Osun is a very difficult task.”

“Adeleke will win again.”

“Your federal might will fail you, Osun tí gbon, ojú Osun tí là.”

“Ori yin ti gbale gbale. IMOLE will win again.”

“Continue your drama. God is with Imole already.”

“E de n soro bi eledumare! You are talking as if you are the God Almighty. IMOLE TILL 2030.”

“Only people decide, not you.”

“This statement is self deceit! In Osun, Asiwaju Jackson Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is on ground gidigidi! Adeleke brings joy, peace and meaningful life to Osun people. APC is synonymous with hardship and huge debts. No way for APC again in Osun. Imọlẹ till 2030.”

“Just give us a credible election, the outcome will shock you. IMOLE will surely win.”

“Another massive defeat awaits you in Osun… Imole Till 2030.”

“Forget Osun, Adeleke is whom we want, and every power of impostors will be disappointed in Jesus Christ’s name Imooooole✌️.”

“As if Na APC delegate go do all the voting. APC is gone in the state forever.”

The overwhelming sentiment from Osun’s populace is clear. Governor Ademola Adeleke, now under the banner of the Accord, enjoys fervent public endorsement for a governance style widely seen as bringing relief and development.

In contrast, the APC and any candidate it presents face visceral rejection, viewed by many as a symbol of past hardship and imposition. This sets the stage for a formidable electoral challenge rooted in popular will rather than party machinery.
